Proud Home of Melody Davidson

Melody Davidson has traveled the world and is an Olympic gold medalist, but she still credits her small-town upbringing for making her who she is today. “I feel really fortunate to have had the opportunities I had,” says Davidson, who grew up in Oyen and has been inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. “Growing up in small-town Alberta, I had the chance to try all kinds of different things and my family encouraged that. I’m not sure you would get those same opportunities in a larger centre.”
