Oyen, Alberta - Tourism

A recreation delight, Oyen is nestled in the eastern portion of Alberta's Special Area in the Canadian Badlands. From the Oyen Museum to the Outdoor Shirley McClellan Leisure Centre, this small town near the Saskatchewan and Alberta border in south east Alberta, has plenty to do.

The Oyen & District Golf Club, features 9 holes of grass greens and full service Club House, this seasonal attraction is right next door to 6 ball diamonds, tennis courts and Skateboard Park. The town boasts two RV Resorts and numerous parks and playgrounds. The Crossroads Centre is a hub for agricultural events year-round, featuring Bull Futurities, Bronc Riding and Gymkhana. Curling, hockey and skating begin each fall and are offered in fantastic facilities for locals and visitors to enjoy.

Shopping and a coffee - a must in Oyen

Great shoppers know that the best finds aren’t in huge shopping malls, the real finds are in small towns and Oyen will not disappoint. With numerous shops featuring home décor to everyday supplies, this little hub is a great place to spend some time spending money or looking around. Don’t forget to grab a coffee at the local coffee café – Dragonfly Cappuccino Bar or grab a fresh sub, at the local Subway (or any of the other great food providers in the area).
